You will see two different styles in my approach to painting.  I call them my summer and my winter work.  This page shows my summer work.  In the summer I work in the garage and create mixed media paintings using modeling paste and acrylic paint on board.  This work is quite messy and can only be done in the garage which is unheated. The results are very satisfying because I have always felt a pull between sculpture, texture and color.  Working with acrylic and modeling paste gives me a range of possibilities which can be explored when one is not limited to a two dimensional space.  I think of this work as sculpted doors opening to a different place.
